Italian street artist and sculptor Peeta creates monumentally large murals of abstracted letterforms with such a sharp handle on precision and gradation between light and dark that the paintings genuinely appear to pop far out from the wall. His highly collected, monochrome sculptures in acrylic resin and fiberglass mimic his paintings in their technical and formal perfection. A graffiti artist since 1993, he currently lives in Venice, and is a member of the EAD crew (Padova, Italy), FX and RWK crews (New York City). Peeta painted a Rochester wall on North Clinton Avenue during during FUA Krew’s 2011 B-Boy BBQ, and returned to town for Writes of Spring, when he blasted an Atlantic Avenue building near a railroad overpass with a mind-bending piece in hues of green, blue, and white.
